Vanderbilt
Community Partnerships
community footprint
I developed a working partnership between Vanderbilt and Asurion.
Asurion | VANDERBILT | 2019
How could I strengthen Asurion in the community?
Asurion wanted to strengthen its presence in the local community and build earlier awareness with high-potential graduates. At the time, there wasn’t a structured, high-visibility partnership with a leading university.
I introduced and co-led a strategic partnership with Vanderbilt’s Accelerator program by designing a real-world fraud challenge for 70 business students.
Aligning with executive participation, I ran the four week program and increased Asurion’s brand presence and connection to emerging talent.
My role
I facilitated the program from concept to execution.
Working with a product partner, we recruited an 8-person leadership panel, engaged our COO for a student Q&A, and mentored students throughout the program.
My leadership included creating the fraud case challenge, syllabus, and teaching a two-hour kickoff presentation.
Additional projects
What came next from me?
In addition to my core product design work, I consistently contributed to talent and community-building efforts, including:

The program developed 5 front-line employees transition into certified software engineering roles, building and retaining a talent pipeline
Co-launching the first Design Apprenticeship in Tennessee | 2022
An accredited program (through Design Lab curriculum) that guided 3 front-line employees into certified design and research roles.

Participating in the citywide Girls Scout Luncheon | 2024 - 2025
